Prayer to help us from being caught up in the cares of the World

It is easy to let ourselve be caught up in the cares of the World.   We can get caught up in careers, pursuit of riches or glory, pursuit of relationships.    God warns us in scripture. ot to get caught up in the cares of theworld because they can cholke the word out of us.    It's very important for our spiritual life to be vigilant in our efforts to keep our relationship with Jesus solid and in a state of growth.   That's what we are praying about today.

Prayer: Treating Jesus Well by Treating People Well

Jesusmake it clear in Matthew that whatever we do to the least of his brothers we do to him.   He asks Paul in his Damascus road experience, Saul, Saul, why do hou persecute me.   Jesus takes the way we treat others very personally.   The way we treats others is equated with the way we are treating him.   He is looking for us to be loving and caring and fruitful.

Prayer for Righteousness

RIghteousness is an area many believers struggle to walk out in their lives.  There are constant attacksfrom the enemy.  There are constant temptations.   In this prayer set we get back to the basics.  What does the bible say about righteousness.   It says over and over they believed God and it was accounted to the as Righteousness.  In this time of prayer we ask God to help us to believe him, to trust him, to make our decisions based on our faith and trust in him.   We know that Abraham wasn't perfect.  We know David wasnt perfect. We know Noah wasnt perfect, but they were righteous.   In this we ask God that despite our imprefections we come to the point where we believe God over and above everything else.

Prayer for more of God Presence

Every Believer has the Presence of God with them at all times, but we can desire and ask for more of his manifest presence, the revealed presence of God.   The presence of God brings his mighty power - power to deliver. The presence of God brings his joy.  It brings safety.   We all can use and can experience more of his presence.

Prayer for Evangelism

In this session we are praying for the uprising of evangelism in thechurch.  Firs of all Jesus gave his people the Great Commission in Mark to go into all the World and Preach the Gospel.  That was a commission, not a suggestion.  Jesus meant it.

In addition, Jesus will not return until the Gospile is preached in all the world to all nations.  That also has not happened yet.  

But we know we are dealing with humans with weaknesses.  So we pray for the leading of the Hosly Spirit, his empoweverment and boldness for the church in evangelism

Prayer for the outcasts and the lonely

For many this is a difficult time of year.  While many of us are looking forward to spending time with family.  Many don't have family to look forward to being with.  This could be the old and infirmed who are in nursing homes or are isolated in their own homes due to lack of mobility.   It could be orphans.   It could be people experiencing homelessness.  Some othe lonely and outcasts are those confiend in prisons.   These people feel alonge, abandoned. Some feel betrayed.  Regardless of the reason, they feel cut off.   

We are praying for people like this during this prayer set.  We are praying that they come to know Jesus Christ as their savior, as one who loves them and as one who will never leave or forsake them. 

We also pray for the curch that it would become God's heard and hands extended to those in our communities who may be fighting lonliness or dispair this Christmas Season.  Jesus can make a difference in their lives.

Prayer for Humility

The Word of God has a lot to say about Humility and Pride.  The choice is ours - we can humble ourseleves, or God will humble us.   I definitely would prefer to humble myselft.  If we do, God promises to exalt us.   The enemy wants to use pride in our lives to seperate us from the Lord.   Instead we should embrace humility so that we can draw close to him.   That is what we are praying for today - expansion of God's Kingdom through humility.

Prayer for those in Mourning

Mourning is normal for humans.  It is painful.  It is a sense of loss.  It is the feeling that some part of our world has come down around us.  I have recently experineced this with the sudden loss of a friend.  I had expected God to heal her for some time, and she passed away suddenly.   Her family, her friends are all feeling the loss.  This is a prayer for people in that situation.  There is nothing we can say to help.   The loss is just too deep.  But we know the Holy Spirit can lighten the load and lift it off.   He is our comforter and in the prayer time we areasking him to come in and help and comfort those who are experience loss.

Prayer for FamilyRelationships

Families seem to be more disfunctional today than ever before    we have parents that are killing their children.   Children are disobedient and dishonoring of their parents.  This is not the way God intended it to be.   He intended love to be the centerpiece with honor and respect helping build the foundations of family life.  Today we will be praying for family relationships using what God says about them as a guide because we know that is God's will

Prayer for the Sick

The scriptures make clear that God heals the sick.  Yet we have many around us who are sick.  You may be listening to this podcast adn maybe you are sick.  Be of good cheer, God heals the sick.  His word is clear on this and it is forever settled in Heaven.   If you are sick or you know someone who is sick, a family member, relative, friend or co-worker.  You can pray and believe for their healing and we will join you in a prayer of agreement for that healing.   Trust God, Have Faith and he will do the miraculous.
