A People Called By His Name
Tuesday Apr 10, 2018
Tuesday Apr 10, 2018
Welcome to the Prayer and Faith Podcast where we pray for God’s will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Thank you for joining us for this podcast. We are staring a series of prayer podcasts praying for and seeking Revival in our churches, and an Awakening in our land.
Our central verse in this series is a promise from God in 2 Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 1
(All Scripture is from the ESV or English Standard Version)
If we look around today, we see sharp divisions in our society. Our societies are being pulled apart. We need God to move.
Our first prayer today deals with the first part of that … If my people who are called by my name…
If you look at that verse, the healing of a land depends solely on God’s people and what they do, not what the unbeliever does or does not do. So the church cannot sit around blaming the “world”, God put the ability to deal with issues, squarely in the hands of his people.
Now there are those that will pint out that this verse was written exclusively for the Jews. I disagree with that. First, God makes clear he is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever. So as a believer in Jesus Christ are you his? Are you called by his name?
Romans 9 declares:
“Those who were not my people I will call ‘my people,’
and her who was not beloved I will call ‘beloved.’”
26 “And in the very place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘sons of the living God.’”
John 1 makes also this very clear:
11 He came to his own,[b] and his own people[c] did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God
2 Corinthians 6:16 declares:
What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Does the church have authority in these issues?
Luke 10:19 tells us:
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you
So as a believer, you are his people and you are called by his name, and he has given you authority.
We need unity of the believers, of the church. We need an urgent call to the people of God to a place of humility, repentance and prayer.
Today we wil be praying
Thanksgiving for his goodness and his great mercy
Asking him to give us the strength, will and desire to stand in the gap for our land, people and nation.
Asking him to call the entire church to this place to contend for healing in the land.

Revival and Awakening Introduction
Wednesday Mar 21, 2018
Wednesday Mar 21, 2018
The world is desperate. The enemy knows his time is short sand is creating as much havoc and destructions as he can. Christians around the world are now being targeted. Obviously some persecution is much worse than others, but in very few places in the world today are believers respected. In Muslim and Hindu majority nations, many believers are very lives are at risk. In non-Muslim nations of the West, Christianity is mocked and derided by most of the establishment. The level of persecution varies between those extremes.
That does not include issues such as famines, disease, war. The war continues in Syria and Afghanistan. There are reports of chemical weapons continuing to be used in Syria. Wars leave refugees fleeing from the war zone and many of them are making their way to nations where they are taxing the resources of those nation and their presence is leading to problems with the locals in the community as cultures clash.
There is great tension between nations. North Korea vs the United States and South Korea. China vs the United States, Taiwan, Japan, India, and Vietnam. Russia and Syria vs Syrian rebels or freedom fighters and Kurds. Russia vs Ukraine. In Venezuela, many are on the verge of starvation. In South Africa tension between blacks and whites are on the rise again.
We need a God sized intervention in this World and while we’re cannot change prophesy. We can as intercessors intervene. God listens to the prayers of his people. He will respond with help
We need him to heal our lands.
So the prayer focus for this series will be 2nd Chronicles 7:14 from the Old Testament. This was given to the Jewish people, but since our God does not change, it is just as valid today.
II Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
You’ll notice this has nothing to do with the lost. They have no say in this. Only those who are the Lord’s actually have a say in this and in many ways are responsible for our situation. It wasn’t anyone’s plan, in most cases, it was inattentiveness to what was happening in the world around us. But, God gave us the solution – the Key if you will to turning things around.
If the church is revived and takes its role seriously, then we will impact the world and the Lord will heal not just our churches, but our communities and nations and many who are lost will repent and come to the Lord Jesus Christ.

End of Human Trafficking

ENDING HUMAN TRAFFICKING
INTRODUCTION
As abortion is an evil of our age, so is human trafficking. Imagine for an instance the idea that you child is kidnapped and there is no ransome demand. No they are being used as slave labor or exploited as sex slaves. That is the situation that millions find themselves in today. It is happening all over the world. We are praying today for God to move to put a stop to this evil.
As a reminder to everyone, all scripture references are from the ESV (English Standard Version of the Bible.
FAITH BUILDER PASSAGE:
MARK 11:22-24
22 And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. 23 Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received[a] it, and it will be yours.
As usual, we like to begin our prayer time with a time of Thanksgiving. We believe that an attitude of thanksgiving mixed with our faith is how we enter the Throne Room of our heavenly Father.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
PSALM 50:23
The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”
PRAYER TOPIC: END OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING
What is Human Trafficking?
According to Wikipedia: Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery, or commercial sexual exploitation for the trafficker or others This may encompass providing a spouse in the context of forced marriage, or the extraction of organs or tissues, including for surrogacy and ova removal. Human trafficking can occur within a country or trans-nationally.
How Prevelant is this?
According to the International Labour Organization (ILO), forced labor alone (one component of human trafficking) generates an estimated $150 billion in profits per annum as of 2014.[9] In 2012, the ILO estimated that 21 million victims are trapped in modern-day slavery. Of these, 14.2 million (68%) were exploited for labor, 4.5 million (22%) were sexually exploited, and 2.2 million (10%) were exploited in state-imposed forced labor.[10]
Human trafficking is thought to be one of the fastest-growing activities of trans-national criminal organizations.
How does the Lord View This?
The Lord loves justice and hates oppression. Those who are victims of human trafficking are the victims of evil people who are oppressing the weak for their own gain. God's word makes it clear where he stands with those who are being unjustly treated.
PSALM 103:6
The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
PSALM 140: 12
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and will execute justice for the needy.
PSALM 146:7
who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free;
LUKE 18:7-8
7 And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? 8 I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”
Unfortunately, many of those caught in Human Trafficking are children. They are weak and vulnerable. The Lord is particularly concerned with them.
MATTHEW 18:10
10 “See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven
God's desire is that those engaged in this kind of conduct would open their eyes and repent and turn away from this kind of evil. This would be the best outcome for everyone involved. Repentance of one who has done wickedness may even lead their victims to Jesus and bring forgiveness, healing, and reconciliation.
2 PETER 3;9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
But if they will not repent and turn, God has other solutions to bring about justice.
The reason God has created authority is to stop evil and to prevent these kinds of atrocities. He uses authorities and leaders to enforce justice and punish those who do wickedly
ROMANS 13:3-5
3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
We will be praying for
Increased awareness of the issue and the development of governtment policies and local and community actions that make this a very difficult activiey to engage in.
We will pray for those who perpetrate these crmies to come to repentance and turn away from wickedness and set captives free
We will pray in the event that perpetrators do not turn, that Governments, the military, the police and law enforcement are given knowledge, understanding and wisdom to know how to shut down human trafficking in their jurisdictions.
In cases where governments fail, and they do, then we will ask the Lord to intervene supernaturally to set the captives free.

Increase of Prayer in the Church
Tuesday Feb 20, 2018
Tuesday Feb 20, 2018
This week, in my home country there was a horrific event. Seventeen people were slaughtered in a High School in Florida. Many others were injured. That began the usual back and forth: Prayers and thoughts for the victims…Then the response from unbelievers. Prayers are not enough or prayers don’t do anything.
I felt convicted that the responsibility in large part to this tragedy and the tragedies that occurs on a far too regular basis on this Earth rests with God’s people and their relative prayerlessness.
When I first came to the Lord, many churches had dedicated prayer areas and dedicated prayer times. That really isn’t the case anymore. Just checking the web sites of many churches – prayer meetings are not listed. If a church does have a prayer room, it is often the least used corner of the church.
I felt the Lord saying as I was pondering all of this that it’s not that prayer doesn’t work, it is that God’s people are not praying.
In this, we are not talking about private prayer where you are praying for your family or your needs, but are praying for your community, your schools, etc.
Today, we are not asking for God to raise up prayer warriors, but that God puts the emphasis for prayer in the heart of every believer. We need a praying Church. Imagine what God can do.
As usual, we will be sharing verses from the ESV or English Standard Version of the bible as we begin with our Faith builder verse today.
FAITH BUILDER VERSE:
JOHN 14::13
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
As usual, we like to begin our prayer time with a time of Thanksgiving. We believe that an attitude of thanksgiving mixed with our faith is how we enter the Throne Room of our heavenly Father.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
PSALM 9:1
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
PRAYER TOPIC:
As we pray today, please focus on yourself, your church, your community and your nation.
I know that in some parts of the world, prayer is taken very seriously. I am thinking of brothers and sisters in Africa, Korea, and China and many other places. Please if you are in an area where there is much prayer, then please pray for us where prayer is often ignored or minimized.
In the West, God is developing a prayer movement with houses of prayer or in Europe 24/7 prayer. I believe this is happening because of the general prayerlessness of the local church. We will certainly pray for these ministries, but we are praying for God to bring prayer back to the local church in a big way.
Will Prayer change things?
The Lord says in 2nd Chronicles 7:14
14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
This is a promise from God. There will be those that will point out that he made this to ancient Israel. However, scripture makes clear that God is the same.
HEBREWS 13:8:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
MATTHEW 18:19-20
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.
If things are going to change, it will be through the church. It will be the church on its knees, not the church in political power. We, as believers, must humble ourselves before our Heavenly Father and pray.
Today we will be praying for:
God to convict the church of the need to pray
For every believer to understand the need for prayer in this hour
For Church leaders to put a focus on a return to corporate prayer
For para church ministries such as houses of prayer and 24/7 prayer to continue to grow
PRAYER FOR THE LOST:
Finland Population: 5.5 million
Affiliation: about 75 percent Christian 25 percent non affiliated.
We don’t know how many are actually followers of Jesus Christ.

End of Abortion

END OF ABORTION
INTRODUCTION
One of the scourges of Western Society and certainly places like China in the East is the issue of Abortion. How a people could become so heartless and lacking in compassion that they agree to a procedure that dismembers their child and rips it from the womb. We will be praying today for God’s justice to come and to end this wickedness in our midst. We are not going to hate on those that are doing this. Some of them are convinced that the fetus is just a lump of flesh. However, we can pray for a change of their hearts and a change of the law. As usual, we will begin with our Faith Builder verse of the day. As a reminder to everyone, all scripture references are from the ESV (English Standard Version of the Bible.
FAITH BUILDER VERSE:
MATTHEW 7:7-8
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
As usual, we like to begin our prayer time with a time of Thanksgiving. We believe that an attitude of thanksgiving mixed with our faith is how we enter the Throne Room of our heavenly Father.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
PSALM 136:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
PRAYER TOPIC: End of Abortion
There are those that are convinced that abortion is acceptable because the unborn child or fetus, is not really a child or a human being yet and because the scriptures don’t mention abortion –it is acceptable to dispose of the fetus. A quick look at the scriptures make it clear the child is a human being. That’s God’s perspective on it. Therefore it is a crime to murder a child. Let’s see what the word of God says about it.
First of all, the child in the womb, is God’s work. Scripture confirms this. This is the Word of God.
PSALM 139:13
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
ISAIAH 44:2
Thus says the Lord who made you, who formed you from the womb and will help you: Fear not, O Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
ISAIAH 44;24
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself,
JEREMIAH 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Next, in the law, we see how seriously the Lord takes the issue. There is even a penalty for harming a child from the womb. Life for Life is what Exodus tells us. We are not under the law, and it is our desire for everyone’s salvation. But God considers the harming a pregnant woman, such that it kills her child, murder.
EXODUS 21:22-25
22 “When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if there is harm,[d] then you shall pay life for life, 24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
John the Baptist’s birth gives us another example that an unborn child is a human being.
LUKE 1:12-16
12 And Zechariah was troubled when he saw him, and fear fell upon him. 13 But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15 for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God,
Notice that Gabriel, in his announcement of John the Baptist, said he would be filled with the Holy Spirit even in his Mother’s womb. He was filled with the Holy Spirit before he was born. God does not fill lumps of flesh with the Holy Spirit. He fills people with the Holy Spirit.
We get more evidence of this When Mary came to visit Elizabeth still in Luke Chapter 1.
LUKE 1:39-44
39 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, 40 and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy
The ’unborn” child recognized that Jesus was present in his mother Jesus. He had awareness. He leapt for joy. He experienced joy. This was not a lump of flesh but a real live human being.
Prayer Points
Heart Change for Mothers considering abortion and their salvation.
Heart Change for Health Care officials involved in the abortion industry and their salvation
Prayer for God to provide Parents with the resources they need to raise and nurture their child.
Change of the laws to make abortion in all of its forms illegal.
PRAYER FOR THE LOST:
Our focus as we pray for the lost this podcast is the nation of Somalia.
Somalia has a population of over 14 million souls. About 99 percent of them are Muslims.
We will pray for God to send laborers into his harvest- raise up Apostles, Evangelists, Prophets, Pastors and Teachers. We will pray that the Lord save the lost in Somalia and that a mighty move of God sweeps through the nation.

Salvation for the Lost
Wednesday Feb 07, 2018
Wednesday Feb 07, 2018
Welcome to the Prayer and Faith Podcast. As we come together today to pray, I hope this will be a blessing to you and your family. As a reminder all verses are taken from the ESV or English Standard Version translation of the bible.
Faith Builder Verse
LUKE 17:6
And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
1 CHRONICLES 16:34
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!
The Estimated population of the world is 7.6 billion people. It is estimated there are approximately 2.2 billion Christians in the World and bear in mind many of those aren’t really believers at all. They claim Christianity as their faith by way of the culture they live in or their family, not by their own faith in Jesus Christ. But that means there are at minimum 5.4 billion lost people in the world. These are people who are all over the globe, but they may also be your neighbor, your co-worker, even your family members.
What can we do about this. The scripture makes it clear, we can pray and we can tell.
First of all, people have to hear the Gospel. Jesus made clear in the Gospels that we should pray for God to send laborers into his harvest.
MATTHEW 9:36-38
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
This is a critical prayer that the Lord himself told us to pray. Why laborers? Because unbelievers have to hear the Gospel first. Without hearing, they can’t be converted. They have to hear about Jesus before they can believe in him. That’s fundamental. This is made clear in Romans:
ROMANS 10: 8-17
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?[c] And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
We have more of a responsibility, than just praying, however. It is our job to go and preach the Gospel. No believer gets a pass in this area. You may be the only person who will share Jesus to the people you work with, go to school with, interact with or that are in your family. You must tell them about Jesus. You must share the Gospel with people in your life.
MARK 1614-16
4 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
ACTS 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
What does a witness do? He or She gives testimony to what they know to be the truth. So, you as a a believer, are empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a witness. You are empowered to testify about Jesus Christ.
But there is another part of the equation. Are the hearts of the people hearing the Gospel receptive.
2 PETER 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
PROVERBS 21:1
The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he turns it wherever he will.
So we desire for the hearts of people to be receptive to the Gospel and to the Lord Jesus, so that they will repent. Satan however, will do everything he can to keep them from hearing and receiving the Words of Life. However, Satan is not the final authority. God is. God can change the heart of anyone he desires. Our prayer will be for God to move on the hearts of those who hear the Gospel, to believe it and to respond to it. We will also ask the Lord to twart the plans of the enemy.
Prayer Points:
Pray for God to send laborers into the harvest
Pray that God will make us and every believer effective witnesses to share the Gospel and testify of the Lord
Pray that God will turn the hearts of those hearing the Gospel so they can and will respond and pray that God thwarts the plan of the enemy.

Prayer for the Building Up of Faith
Tuesday Jan 30, 2018
Tuesday Jan 30, 2018
INTRODUCTION
As I was praying about the prayer topic for this podcast, I just heard the word “Faith” over and over in my mind. So, today, we will be praying for the building up of faith.
Since our prayer topic today is on Faith, we will skip the Faith Builder verse for this podcast.
But we will begin with our prayer of Thanksgiving. Just a note: All scripture references are from the English Standard Version (ESV).
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
EPHESIANS 5:20
. giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
PRAYER TOPIC
Faith is a critical attribute of a believer in Christ. Without it how can you believe in Jesus Christ? How can you believe he took away your sins? How can you believe in an eternal reward?
Faith is essential to the believer as the Lord reminds us:
HEBREWS 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
It wasn’t the keeping of the law that made Abraham righteous. The law did not even exist except for the covenant of circumcision in Abraham’s time. The law came later with Moses. Romans, Galatians, and James all agree about Abraham’s righteousness. We’ll just use the James 2:23 scripture
JAMES 2:23
and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.
Believing God, that’s what Faith is. Trusting in him and his Word. Jesus told us:
MATTHEW 4:4
But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
This is backed up by Habakkuk:
HABAKKUCK 2:4
“Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith.
Which is echoed in the New Testament in Romans and Galatians
ROMANS 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
GALATIANS 3:11
Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Faith is Essential for Effective Prayer. You can throw up prayers where you are hoping God will do something. Those will most likely result in disappointment. Your prayers need faith behind them.
MATTHEW 21:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
MARK 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
What is possible with faith? What can Faith accomplish?
MATTHEW 21:21
And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
MARK 9:23
And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
How much faith do we need?
MATTHEW 17:20
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
LUKE 17:6
And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
Faith can be strengthened
LUKE 22:32
but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Acts 16:5
So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.
ROMANS 10:17
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Now, there are many that would saying studying the scriptures is what this is referring to. That can help, but that is not what it means. There are two words in Greek translated to the “word” and they are Logos and Rhema. Logos generally refers to the “written word of God.” Rhema is more directed, more specific to you. Now, it is true that God will often speak to you through the written Word and you will know it is a specific directed Word for you in that moment. It is Rhema to you. So yes, meditate on the scriptures, but keep your spiritual ears open for him to speak specifically to you. That comes with faith.
So we can Pray for faith. We can focus on God’s word to us.
PRAYER FOR THE LOST
Nigeria
Population approximately 140 million
The split between Islam and Christianity is interesting. Some reports indicate more Muslim adherents than Christians and other report the opposite. It is impossible to tell for sure. However, what is important is a large number are still lost regardless of the specific numbers.
There is a major Christian crusade planned for next month in Nigeria, so we want the Lord to move on that.

Praying for those with Chemical Addictions
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
Tuesday Jan 23, 2018
Welcome to the Prayer and Faith Podcast. Today we are praying for a group of people that as a “group” don’t often get a great deal of prayer focus, and that is for addicts or people struggling with chemical additions.
As usual we will begin with our faith builder verse of the day. As a reminder all verses are taken from the ESV or English Standard Version translation of the bible.
Faith Builder Verse
MATTHEW 12:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Prayer of Thanksgiving
The Lord wants us to enter into his presence with Thanksgiving and Praise. We never want to be remiss in remembering God’s Goodness.
COLOSSIANS 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Introduction to Prayer Topic:
People struggling with addictions may be all around us. Yes, it may be the homeless guy on the park bench that reeks of alcohol when you pass by. But there are many more. In the United States alone, according to one website: Over 20 million Americans over the age of 12 have an addiction (excluding tobacco).
Who are these people? The businessman you see at the restraint having lunch could be an alcoholic, who appears to have it all together and looks successful, but is destroying his family. Your elderly neighbor who never used illicit drugs in his life could be hooked on opioids, due to the back problems he had years earlier. Others take heroin, methamphetamines, marijuana and other illicit drugs and are risking their relationships, their finances, their careers, their health, their freedom (due to criminal activity), their health and even their lives because they are hooked on drugs or alcohol.
There are many who have given up hope of being free from the oppression of chemical addiction. But the Lord specializes in setting people free.
John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Luke 4:18
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
Luke 1:37
For nothing will be impossible with God.”
God is willing to set the captives free. Are you willing to join your faith with others and to believe that the Lord will bring freedom from oppression for those who are suffering from chemical dependency.
Mark 9:23
And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.”
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Matthew 7:7-11
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Matthew 18:19
Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 21:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
In some cases the person may not appear willing to make the change, or to want it yet. However, they are leaving a path of destruction in their wake. We can even ask the Lord to help them to see the truth and to turn their hearts.
Proverbs 21:1
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.
Prayer for the Lost
We are going to continue to pray for those who are battling chemical addictions. For this are focus is on those who are lost, that if Chemical dependency takes their lives, will forever be separated from the Lord. We are praying for their salvation as well today. We not only want them freed from the bondage of chemical addiction, but from sin as well. We want them to know the love and Joy of their Heavenly Father.

Praying for God's Strength for the weak and the humbled
Wednesday Jan 17, 2018
Wednesday Jan 17, 2018
INTRODUCTION:
Thank you for joining us on the Prayer and Faith Podcast today. The world is desperately in need of Jesus. The lost need Jesus and his Salvation and forgiveness. Governments need Jesus and his wisdom. The Saints need Jesus and his righteousness and his strength.
We are honored that you would join with us in prayer today as we intercede. We are partnering with Jesus and he will respond to us as we pray today. Just remember to keep believing as the Word of God makes clear: The Just shall live by faith.
Join us and pray in faith for the weak. Pray that they are encouraged. If you know someone who fits that description, please lift them up in prayer. If that person is you, please pray for yourself, muster your faith and pray and we will join our faith with yours.
If you don’t know anyone that fits that description, pray in agreement with the Saints who are praying for specific people Or maybe there is a specific group of Christians somewhere such as martyrs you want to lift up. Please do so.
Just a note. All verses are taken from the ESV or English Standard Version translation.
FAITH BUILDER VERSE:
Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
INTRODUCTION TO THE TOPIC:
While I was praying about the prayer topic for this podcast, I just felt like I heard the Lord speak Single mothers. As I delved into it, I believe that was a starting point not the sole topic. I believe the Lord wants us to pray for those who are weak and feel overwhelmed. There are people all around us that feel like life is drowning them. They are living lives where they may be facing severe lack of basic necessities. They may be fighting a battle with an illnesss or disease. Some are facing job or business pressures. Others yet may feel like an outsider in their own family. There are believers out there that are feeling so overwhelmed they are wondering where God is in their situation. Still others feel like their grasping at the very last shred of faith they have and are wondering if God loves them and has a plan for them. I believe the Lord wants us to remind them of what he has said about weakness, that Jesus himself experienced weakness. Weakness tends to leave us in humility and in that humility God can do his greatest work.
PSALM 72:13
He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the lives of the needy.
ROMANS 8:26
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
2 CORINTHIANS 12:9-10
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
MATTHEW 18:4
Whoever humbles himself llke this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
MATTHEW: 23:12
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
PHILLIPIANS 2:8
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
JAMES 4:6
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
JAMES 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
RAYER FOR THE LOST:
This week we want to pray for the Native People in the Amazon jungle. This is kind of personal to me because I have people I care about deeply who are serving as missionaries and these are the people they are serving. I don’t know how many there are? I don’t know if there has been a good census of of them at all. I do know this. Most of them have never heard the Gospel, and we want them to not only hear the Gospel but respond to it as well.

18002 Praying for Greater Intimacy with God - Part 2
Tuesday Jan 09, 2018
Tuesday Jan 09, 2018
Welcome to the Prayer and Faith Podcast. As we come together today to pray, I hope this will be a blessing to you and your family. We are going back to finish or continue a topic we began a couple of weeks ago. We are continuing to look at and address steps that can lead us into greater intimacy with God. Just a reminder, in the first part we focused on doing the will of God, meditating on the Lord, meditating on his works, meditating on the Word of God and his law and finally meditating on his promises. Today we will continue by looking at worship, prayer, living by faith and giving. As usual we will begin with our faith builder verse of the day. As a reminder all verses are taken from the ESV or English Standard Version translation of the bible.
Faith Builder Verse
MATTHEW 7: 7-8
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
The Lord wants us to enter into his presence with Thanksgiving and Praise. We never want to be remiss in remembering God’s Goodness.
Psalms 69:30
I will praise the name of God with a song;
I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Welcome Brothers and Sisters and we continue to focus on our intimacy with the Lord in this upcoming year. It is my hope that as we are praying you are focusing your attention on your walk with the Lord We all have very busy schedules, which makes it even more critical that we focus our attention on the Lord and our relationship with him.
Worship the Lord
Psalm 29:2
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.
Psalm 95:6
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
Psalm 96:9
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!
Revelation 7:11
And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
Throughout the Psalms we are exhorted to worship God. In Revelation, we get a picture of what is happening and they are falling on their face and worshipping God. We too should make sure a part of our day is spent worshipping God.
Prayer
Prayer is critical to your intimacy with the Lord. Jesus made a point of prayer himself. If he prayed, how much more should we pray.
Matthew 14:23
And after he had dismissed the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
Matthew 26:36
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.”
Luke 6:12
In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.
Jesus tells us to pray that we may avoid temptation
Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Luke 18:1
18 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.
Faith
Hebrews 11;6
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Romans 4;3
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”
James 2:23
and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God.
Giving
As we look at our relationship with God, there are those who will argue that giving has nothing to do with it, god doesn’t need our money. While it is true, he does not need our money. It is false that there is no relationship between giving and our relationship with him.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The following is what Jesus said to the Rich your ruler.
Mark 10:21
And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
If we pursue these disciplines we can increase our intimacy with the Lord and so we will p
